About Vilnius Review

Vilnius Review is a journal of Lithuanian literature in translation.

It functions as a digital space (vilniusreview.com) for publishing English translations of works by Lithuanian writers – and once every year it takes the form of a paper anthology showcasing the best annual selection of texts. The journal’s mission is to cultivate interest in Lithuanian literature by sharing the latest works with an international readership. It publishes prose, poetry, essays, fiction and non-fiction works by Lithuanian writers, as well as interviews with authors, and reviews by critics. Vilnius Review also offers a visual anthology of Lithuanian poetry in the form of readings by local poets filmed at different locations around the city.

In 2024, the journal was shortlisted by the D&AD Awards in the Magazine & Newspaper Design category and was awarded the Wood Pencil.

In the fall of 2024, a French edition of the journal was published for the Lithuanian Season in France. A team of 13 translators worked on this special issue, which was presented at various literary and translation festivals, featured by Le Monde, and distributed in numerous French bookshops by Éditions Le Soupirail.

Vilnius Review is a member of the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP).

Although there is no open submissions policy, interested parties, including translators, may contact the editors at vilniusreview@gmail.com
