“A Glance from the Other Side” is a video interview cycle launched by Vilnius Review. In these videos we will be talking to foreigners living, working, or currently residing in Vilnius for their thoughts on Lithuanian literature.
Our conversations will delve into their native cultures, reading habits, relationships with Lithuania and the city of Vilnius, and their opinions on Lithuanian writers, their works, and the differences between the literary schools and traditions of their countries and Lithuania.
These conversations are not meant to be objective in the academic sense, instead focusing on individual reading experiences and values. Yet such a glance from the other side offers us a look at our literature from a cultural and literary perspective different from our own, and can ultimately bring us to new interpretations and comparisons of how literature works across countries and cultures.
